Part of Baan Haad Ngam Boutique Resort in North Chaweng, it reflects the elegance and charm that characterizes the resort as a whole. The restaurant is open on three sides and provides stunning views over the beach and sea. You can choose to dine outside or under a covered area, and at night the mood is romantic with candles lit on every table and a star-lit backdrop.

With over thirty years experience in the food industry, Executive Chef Luigi Fadda not only prepares a selection of appetizing dishes for the menu, but will also advise on special sauces and methods of cooking fresh seafood, which you can choose from the ‘seafood boat.’ Signature dishes on his menu include the antipasto for two, made up of goose liver, smoked salmon, fresh soft shell crab, tuna and mozzarella cheese. Another favourite is the rock lobster fettuccine with garlic and chili, while the crème brulee is a mouth-watering concoction which comes with kiwi ice-cream and sprinkles of burnt sugar – a “melt -in-your- mouth” experience.

The menu at Olivio is extensive, with an entire page devoted to vegetarian options. The usual pasta dishes are all available, but particular emphasis is placed upon seafood, with lobster, king fish, red tuna, sword fish, squid and salmon being only a few of the wide variety on offer.The seafood is all completely fresh, with Luigi himself overseeing the buying, cleaning and presentation on every plate. A large wine fridge guarantees a broad selection of wines, with the Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz and Chardonnay being particularly recommended. The bar also stocks a range of liqueurs and ‘Happy Hour’ between 4 and 7pm entices you with discounts on selected cocktails and Beer.

You can dine inside in richly decorated surroundings or outside overlooking the beach, with candles and fairy lights providing ambient lighting. Try the aperitifs at the outside bar and perch on comfortable bar stools sipping your cocktail while watching the sun sink into the sea. Then look at the menu and find your mouth watering in anticipation. Rocky’s serves delicious Thai food as well as a wide range of international dishes. The homemade pumpkin soup is an absolute delight, as is the goat cheese and oven roasted tomato salad. Both are delectable starters to an ongoing feast. As to be expected from a restaurant located right next to the beach, there are a lot of seafood specialties. The steamed sea bass fillet with lemongrass and ginger is just one example of the myriad of seafood on offer, and the grilled king prawns with a mango and orange sauce taste as if they have just come out of the ocean. They pride themselves on the freshness of their produce and rightly so. The Thai Kantoke dinner for two is a beautifully presented and traditional three course dinner served in the Thai style. You start with a Thai appetizer selection, move onto delicious main courses such as roast duck curry or green curry with chicken, and finish with either mango and sticky rice or bananas in coconut milk. If you do have a sweet tooth then the dessert menu will entice you. With choices such as white and dark chocolate mousse with mango and dragonfruit and hot chocolate and banana cream mocca anglaise with vanilla ice-cream, you are sure not to be disappointed. Rocky’s can organize romantic private dinners in an intimate sala every Sunday and provide custom menus. A sparkling cabaret show with a beach BBQ buffet is put on every Tuesday. A traditional Thai dance show combined with a four corners of Thailand buffet will certainly entertain you.
