The newest restaurant to join the leagues in Chaweng, The Larder takes things back to basics serving up rustic fine dining – bringing together the finest produce in the most approachable and frankly, delicious manner.
With good, honest food created by reinventing British and International classics coupled with an ethos of relaxed dining, The Larder encourages patrons to sit back and soak in the lackadaisical surroundings. This restaurant-come-bar is a refreshing change of pace for Samui, serving up food from the earth and from the sea…..from farm to table or from boat to table, you will not find a restaurant on the island with a more straight-forward and approachable menu.
For those looking for a small bite, why not try the Duck breast and liver pate with red wine gel, honey roast beetroot & olive bread crisp or the Warm goats’ milk cheese with salted caramel walnuts, grilled pear & gem salad or tuck in to a Runny yolk Scotch egg Asparagus for dipping & garden herb salad. For a more substantial affair delve into the Roasted Wagyu beef rump steak with wild rocket, stilton cheese & quince paste or the Australian lamb sandwich drizzled in aged balsamic and topped with grilled tomato & hummus, or take a dip in the ocean with The Larder’s Snowfish & chips – beer battered snow fish, and served with garden pea purée, homemade chips & a creamy tartare sauce.
Although the food is the shining star, the drinks do not fall meekly into the shadows. With all the usual wine and bubbles suspects, The Larder takes it further with cocktails elevated to a whole new level, conjuring up magic in every glass. Be it with their house-smoked bacon bourbon, pomelo fizz or their deconstructed bloody mary – each drink has been carefully created to complement the extensive and delicious menu.
Located at the top of the Chaweng Beach Road (opposite Anantara Lawana) The Larder opens at 11am for delicious lunchtime fare through until 1am, for those looking for dinner or a late night cocktail.
