Unique Rural Restaurant

It’d be difficult to find a more relaxed setting for dinner than The Farmer Restaurant & Bar. For a start, there’s nothing quite like it; this is the only restaurant on Samui to be situated in a rice field. As such, it’s an amazingly peaceful place to dine. You can hear the cries of cicadas out in the fields, watch buffalo grazing and while evening falls on the hills just to the south.

The dishes are top-quality Thai, using recipes that are generations old and have been handed right the way down to the present owner and the chef. These are completely authentic dishes, prepared with great flair. The results are delicately-nuanced textures where every ingredient and taste is balanced. To sum up: you’re in for a treat when you eat here. Not surprisingly, The Farmer won a Best Restaurant award from Thailand Tatler.

Delicious Thai food Samui The Farmer

The menu’s extensive and covers the full gamut of Thai food. Particularly recommended is the crispy fried duck, which is served on an immaculate square white plate, along with spicy dipping sauce and a heart-shaped portion of rice. The tastes are sublime.

The curries are equally wonderful. They’re slow-cooked with a precise blend of spices that brings out their succulent flavors. Try the chicken massaman or the massaman lamb shank. They’re exceptionally well- prepared and mouthwatering. Incidentally, there’s currently a 30% discount on the crispy fried duck and chicken massaman, both at lunch and dinner – definitely worth taking advantage of.
