Ban Plai Laem, Big Buddha, Choeng Mon and Tongsai BayBig Buddha and Ban Plai Laem are located on the north coast of Koh Samui, close to the airport and the island's most famous tourist landmark - The Big Buddha itself. It is definitely worth the taxi ride from wherever you are staying on the island to discover the growing number of fine dining options that can be found both along the beach and further inland.
Bo Phut and Fisherman's VillageOne of the island's more recently developed villages, it has managed to retain some of its traditional Thai charm and values yet has a slight Mediterranean feel. The limited traffic along this stretch of road gives the feeling of a more relaxed ‘walking street’, something which is increasingly difficult to find on Samui. Many of the converted shop houses offer romantic beachside dining.
Chaweng North to CenterAlong the length and breadth of Chaweng Beach you will find more restaurants than you could possibly visit in the space of your holiday. Therefore we have divided it into two sections to make it easier for you to navigate your way through the wide range of dining options it has to offer. This first section will deal with the area from Chaweng North to Chaweng Centre. Here you will find a number of great restaurants, both as part of luxury hotels as well as other independent establishments.
Chaweng Center to South and Chaweng NoiThis area of Chaweng offers a range of different dining experiences. Enjoy romantic beachside dining, listening to the waves gently rolling in, or sit back, relax and watch the world go by at one of the restaurants on the main street. There are also some gems to be found in some of the smaller side streets. One such street is Soi Colibri, located opposite the Central Samui Beach Resort which features not one but four excellent restaurants.
Lamai BeachLamai is the second largest beach on Koh Samui and is thought by many to have the most beautiful beach on the island. While slightly less developed than Chaweng Beach there are still a number of high quality dining options.
Lipa Noi and Taling NgamLipa Noi and Taling Ngam are located on the islands west coast, which is the place to enjoy spectacular Samui sunsets and views of the islands. Despite being less developed than many other parts of the island there are still some great places to dine, and you certainly won't regret making the effort to get there.
